Corneal implants in the treatment of keratoconus (E)
This presentation will address all the diverse modalities of altering the shape of the ectatic Cornea, namely the Intracorneal Ring Segments Intacs, Keraring, Ferrara and Myoring rings their indication, efficacy, differences, and possible complications.
Furthermore, the recent developments of corneal allogenic ring segments (CAIRS) implantation as a viable alternative their significant advantages and our experience with the KeraNatural Implants in the pursue of the visual rehabilitation of ectatic corneas.

After graduating from medical school, Dimitrios Kyroudis, MD, completed his residency in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at the North London Partnership Hospitals, then worked for Icon Laser Eye Centers Inc. in London, where he specialised in laser vision correction. He returned to Greece and was appointed Medical Director, establishing the company in Athens and Thessaloniki. He was appointed head of the refractive surgery department of Athens Vision Eye Centers as chief physician. He currently works as a senior refractive surgery physician for Pallas Kliniken AG and as head of the refractive surgery division since 2019. He practices in Zurich and Bern and is certified in Switzerland as a specialised eye surgeon by SWIF.
