Optimizing CL Fitting for Presbyopia in Clinical Practice: an Interactive Workshop (E)

Becoming presbyope represents a challenge in performing everyday visual task, particularly in modern society, where digital devices are extensively used at near distance.
Many people wish to maintain independence from spectacles, and contact lenses (CL) can offer a valuable option in this regard. However, CL use tends to decrease with increasing presbyopia (Morgan et al, 2009; Morgan et al 2011) with retention rates falling from 75% to 63%, over the age of 45 years (Sulley et al, 2017). The adoption of new technologies and procedures, as well as the availability of innovative product, may help increase the success rate of CL wear in presbyopic patients.
In this workshop, selected subjective and objective procedures useful in the fitting process will be interactively demonstrated and discussed to improve the outcomes.
